Domestic animal farm is open on Wednesday – Saturday 11-18 and on Sunday 12-16 in the summertime. Here you can meet horses, chicken, sheep, cows, calves, bunnies, ducks, cats and dog. At the farm you find also a nice cafe, pre-order restaurant and a small organic food shop. In the yard area you will also find a children’s playground. In Ilola’s farm you can also go horseback riding and rent various bikes.

The farm yard are is also open for family visits as agreed in advance. In the popular farm family visits with advance reservation and guidance, only among your own family, you can get to know the farm’s animals more closely, feed, care for and caress them.

Tuomarla estate is open for public only for pre-order. You can book horseback riding at the farm. The petting zoo has goats, sheep, ducks, chickens, cats, dogs, ponies and horses.

Pukkila alpaca farm >

Pukkila’s farm is located in Metsäkansa, completely in the countryside less than a five-minute drive from the highway. There has been life on the farm for hundreds of years. Nowadays alpacas are raised on the farm and customized alpaca experiences are produced.

If agreed in advance, you can come to the farm to get to know the alpacas and other animals on the farm. The alpacas offer coffee company or go on a forest trip to a nearby shed. Dwarf goats also like to go for a short walk. In connection with farm visits and forest trips, it is possible to rent a log cabin or summer room to eat your own meals or to order meals in advance from us. The farm sells alpaca wool yarn and other products.

Traffic park is open in summer.

The children’s traffic park is located in the city center next to Sahara’s heated artificial grass. In traffic park little drivers can pedal cars and tricycles. On a safe track you will become familiar with the rules of real traffic.

During official opening hours it is possible to ride the city’s pedal cars in the park and there is also a supervisor. Outside of regular opening hours you can ride your own bikes in the park.

There is toilet in the area. The traffic park is free to enter and is intended for children under 12 years old. We recommend using your own bike helmet. In traffic park you are responsible for your own adult.

Valkeakoski kindergartens and school lower classes can use the traffic park in may and august on their own. To avoid overlaps please book your appointment from the calendar. More information about the exercise activity.

Access to the Apia adventure park is free from summer to winter. Allow plenty of time for the excursion because there is something for everyone to do, from swimming to skateboarding. In the summer, the swimming lagoon is the region’s best place for beach games. The adventure park also has a wonderful play castle area that feeds the imagination where you can have adventures on the castle walls or towers.

The whole family should go to the adventure park with energy, time and snacks. Apia also has a summer kiosk and a beach sauna.

Acces to the park is free.

The Apianniemi summer theater is located in the adventure park where renters can organize their events. The adventure park closes one hour before these events start.

The nearest parking spaces are located at the eastern end of Urheilukatu from where it is a 200 meter walk to the adventure park. There are also good parking spaces in the yard of Urheilutalo which is located at the west end of Urheilukatu and it is 300 meters to the park along Pässinmäkikatu. A good option is also to leave your car at Kauppatori from where there it is slightly longer but idyllic route to the park by Putaansilta and Pässinmäkikatu.

Walklandia is a sports park offering free experiences for children and young people. In the area you can find a hobby horse track, skatepark and a pump track. The Walkland area is located in the forest area between the ice rink Wareena and the hotel Waltikka.

The skatepark has an area of approximately 450 square meters. There are riding arenas for hobby horses and later a cross-country track will also be added to the area.

The pumptrack is a track with hills where you can move with bikes, skateboards, rollerskates and kickboards. Instead of pedaling you travel along the hills with a pumping movement. The versatile pumptrack is suitable for little kickers as well as experienced cyclists – regardless of age, gender and background. The track offers new challenges as skills develop and creates experiences.
